Hello, my name is Stacy and I am a bad blogger. It’s been almost 2 months since my last post. This past weekend we celebrated the 4th, and I am going to attempt my first, “Not Me! Monday” blog.
I did not sit and read all of Kelly’s blogs for June this morning, and look at her “messy” house pictures with envy.
I did not let Kate fall asleep 3 nights in a row before she was able to brush her cute little teeth.
I did not sit on the couch and the bed ALL day yesterday sleeping and watching The Office, and then smile when Kate was already asleep when she and Jeremy got home from church last night.
I did not leave a load of towels in the washer for 3 days so that they had to be rewashed on Sunday.
Ok, so that’s it for my Not Me! Monday post. Here’s the catch-up summary of the past few weeks.
We (Jeremy and my dad) built a new deck on our apartment. It looks awesome. I’ll try to post some pictures it’s 12x12, was built with trex and white vinyl railing. It is Kate’s favorite place to play, she has a Step 2 slide, and a patio set of her own. We also take her tricycle out from time to time; she’s so close to being able to use the pedals!
We have 3 calves at our house: Buzz, Buster and I’m not sure what the 3rd one is named. Kate loves them, although as they get bigger and have more energy she is keeping more distance when she goes to see them. Buzz and Buster are bottle fed and Kate routinely helps mix the bottles and feed them.
She has learned her full name (kinda), it’s Katie-Bugs Morris, if you ask her. She is counting to 16 or 17 and her favorite ABC song is from Choo-Choo Soul on Disney. She has left The Wiggles stage for now and is on to Scooby Doo. She insists on band-aids on boo-boo’s even if they are not bleeding and I’m fairly certain she just wants them for decoration. We can’t take them off unless she’s asleep and she gets very upset if one falls off and isn’t soon replaced.
We’ve been taking her to the library for the past few months. She get’s very excited when we tell her we’re going, and it’s always interesting to ask her what kind of book she wants. Last week she wanted a doggie book, and a choo-choo book, and then added a Pirate book to her stack. She has become very adapt at entertaining herself. Yesterday I peeked in the living room and she was sitting a chair with her doodle pad book, just drawing away.
On Friday we went to Lakemont Park in Altoona, PA. It’s a small family amusement and water park. Kate had a blast; she loves to ride the rides! Her favorite ride was the boats. I’ve got some pictures; I’ll try to post them tonight. It was very nice, the weather was cool, but it did warm up in the afternoon so that the kids could play in the water park. The kids’ water park looks like pirate ship with slides and spray cannons shooting off the deck. Kate loves the water and even though she was just shivering away did not want to get out of the water, I received several, “NO, Mommy!” responses upon asking if she was ready to get out. She sat on Jer’s lap and watched intently at the fireworks that evening. The noise didn’t scare her one little bit.
Saturday was spent at not one but two picnics. First, we picnicked with my family; Kate swam all afternoon. Then we went to a picnic w/ Jer’s family in the evening; this one had an inflatable moon bounce. Kate jumped and ran around like she was the happiest kid on earth.

Oh it sounds like you had a good weekend! I need to see Katie soon--she sounds so cute and full of energy!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I haven't seen Kate (and you and Jeremy) in forever! Looking forward to zoo day on Saturday. Apparently it's primate awareness weekend, whatever that means! Uncle Eric is even taking the day off!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see an update :) I definitely owe you an update on what's going on with me!!! Do you have pictures from your weekend or your deck?
