The Zoo...

So, I knew Kate had fun at the zoo a couple weekends ago, but I didn’t realize how much she really enjoyed it until this past Saturday when she said she wanted to go to the zoo and see big animals. I guess we’ll be making another trip soon.


Two weekends ago, (7/11/09) we joined Aunt Kelly and Uncle Eric at the Baltimore Zoo. It was a great day! Kate got to see elephants, penguins, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, zebras, polar bears and so much more. As soon as we got there the thing she wanted to see most was the polar bears

Which, judging by her face, lived up to her expectations. After that it was all about seeing penguins.

So while we were looking at the beautiful giraffe the only thing my daughter was interested in was the penguins, go figure. The thought of feeding a giraffe distracted he momentarily, but once it was revealed that we had missed our chance it was back to seeing the penguins.

After all the build up walking in - about the polar bears and her interest in penguins, which was unabated until her thirst was quenched...But by days end her favorite animals were the chimpanzee's. They were very entertaining. They younger ones played, swinging from rope to rope and monkeying around with each other, while the older ones seemed more relaxed. One even seemed to be just as interested watching us as we were watching him.

It was a great day. The weather was nice, not too hot. The company was enjoyable. Most of all, Kate had great time, one that she’s still talking about.
