I have so much to be thankful for:
1) My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ - That God would send his son to die in order that we all might be saved. I would like to think that I would give my life for many people: friends, family, and maybe complete strangers (if the situation arose). BUT, I cannot think of one person for whom I would sacrifice Kate's life.
2) My family - I grew up in a very strong and supportive family. My sister and I were always expected to do our best, and as long as that happened, no outcome was ever questioned. My dad's parents, Nanny and Pappy have been married for 52 years. They were blessed with 6 children although they lost one as a child and one as an adult. They provided a safe, stable and loving home for their children; and sometimes even their grandchildren have been able to seek refuge there. They still provide for their children and grandchildren, sending cards and care packages to my siste, Amber who is in college and to my cousin, Bryan who is currently serving a term in Iraq. My mom was also raised in a loving and supportive home. She lost her dad when she was only 7 years old. My grandmother was and continues to be a very strong woman. She raised 3 children on her own after my grandfather passed. With Jeremy came an awesome set of in-laws. His parents are divorced, but each is happily remarried. I love his family, we've never quarreled, and they are so loving and caring. Kate and Jeremy are part of the family, but I'll get to them next.
3. Kate and Jeremy - I felt they deserved their very own paragraph. Jeremy continues to amaze me. There are times, especially recently, where I'm positive that he does more chores than I do around the house. He does the laundry, takes out the trash, baths Kate, fixes things that are broken, cooks dinner, vacuums, the list goes on and on. He is loving and attentive and always gives it to me straight when I do or say something that isn't considerate of how it may effect or offend or come off rude even though that wasn’t my intent, and even when I'm just making excuses (which is quite often). He's funny, although we don't always agree on what funny is. Kate is a reason to celebrate everyday. She loves to tickle people, loves to jump on the bed, loves bath time and story time, loves choo-choo's and ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits, pigs and cows. She does not, however, like bed time! Everyday she is a little easier to understand; she called her Uncle "E-ic" and Pappy "Tevin" last night to say, "Happy Birfday". I'll try to post some pictures of her tonight.
That's it for me today. Try to live out the lyrics to one of my favorite songs and thank God for something in your life. (Blessed Be Your Name by Matt Redman)
Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name.
Blessed Be Your Name

Uncle "E-ic" enjoyed his "birfday" call. I will call you soon to chat (and plan a zoo trip???). We were at dinner with his parents and it was hard to hold a conversation. He was very happy hear from Kate!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post Stacy!! I have been keeping up with MkMama on twitter, and I can't believe Stellan is allergic to morphine :( Glad things are going well! Hopefully I will be able to see you soon.
